How to sign up for a library card
You will need 2 forms of ID.
- Picture ID – this proves who you are. examples are: Driver’s license, state ID, FOID card.
- Proof of address – to prove you live inside the city limits. Must be something you have received at your address in the past 2 weeks that has your name, address and date on the same page or envelope, or a lease agreement.
If you live inside the city limits of West Frankfort a library card is free.
If you have a West Frankfort address but live outside the city limits there will be a $50.00 non-resident fee per household, per year. The library does not receive tax money from those who reside outside the city limits. The $50.00 fee is an average of what those who live inside the city limits pay in property taxes each year.
Checkout policies
Patrons must present their library card for all checkouts – no exceptions.
Checkout on all West Frankfort Public Library items is 2 weeks, they can be renewed 1 time by phone if there is no waiting list.
Reciprocal patrons must bring their items in to the library for renewal.
The first year you are a patron 3 items at a time may be checked out. After the first year 10 items at a time may be checked out.
If you borrow an item from another library, the item will be covered under the policies of the library that owns the item.
